This is not the part of our website where you’re going to be told why you need a website. If you’re here…then chances are, you already know why you need a website.  At this point, you need to decide who is going to design your website. Therefore, this is the part where we  tell you why you should choose Flash of Brilliance.

Your Basic Website Design…

  • Installation of any necessary software on the hosting account, direct the domain name(s) to the site and create all the email accounts you want established. You will have to provide me username/password to the hosting account and domain name account.
  • Layout, Custom header & navigation – The layout will be built using an approved mock-up as a guide. Header (top area of each page) will incorporate your logo. Navigation will be created.
  • Page building for each page (any type, i.e. text only, photo gallery) for the site and enter the content you provided. All page building includes basic SEO (search engine optimization).
  • Blog Integration so that your site will be blog ready.
  • Social Media Linking using icons or direct links to link the site to your facebook fanpage, twitter, etc.
  • Forms wherever necessary, such as the contact page, appropriate contact forms that will be linked to a specified email account.
  • Favicon, which is the tiny icon that appears next to the web address when viewers come to your site.

Turn-Around Time -

A typical basic website should take no more than 10 business days to complete. This is dependent on you providing content. The more prepared you are, the faster the process can go. You may need to be available via email to answer questions or to provide additional info. Delays in the production time are usually due to lack of response (from the client).

We understand very well that things come up. However, we have a schedule to maintain and in order to accommodate all of our projects and their deadlines we need you to be committed to your project just as much as we are.

Basic website design starts at $650 (USD).

We will determine a specific scope of work for your website design project and give you a flat cost-not-to-exceed price. Any additions to the scope of work determined after the project has begun will be billed at $50 per hour. We will always let you know if you are requesting something for your website design that will alter the final cost.

E-commerce Website Design

If you have 10 products or more, a shopping cart system should be used.  The e-commerce website design includes all the basics as described above plus the following.

 

  • Product Pages – FOB will create a layout template to be used for individual products that includes the title, full description, price and other details (i.e. product variations).
  • E-Commerce Software – FOB will acquire an e-commerce (online shopping cart)software license, install the software and set up all the controls. The chosen software includes the following features:
  • E-Commerce will give you the ability to:
    track inventory/ stock levels
    manage orders (from back end of the site)
    promotions/coupons/ sales (i.e. free shipping)
    tax by state or zip code
    collect money offline (if desired)
    printer friendly receipts for customers

The turn-around time for e-commerce web designs take longer than your basic website design. You can expect a typical turn-around time of 10 business days for the overall layout of the website to be complete. This is something we can project once we know how many products you will have, how they will be categorized and what variations (size, color, etc) each one includes.

E-commerce website design starts at $850 (USD).

We will determine a specific scope of work for your website design project including the initial amount of products to be added and give you a flat cost-not-to-exceed price. Any additions to the scope of work determined after the project has begun will be billed at $50 per hour. Additional products are usually added in batches for which we charge additional fees per batch. In any event, we will always let you know if you are requesting something for your website design that will alter the final cost.

The Process

The first step is a consultation where we will discuss every aspect of your website, from the look and feel you desire to the goals and objectives. We will discuss the features and  functions that should be included as well as what will be required of you to make it happen. You will receive an invoice for 50% of the initial total. Your website project will begin once we have received your deposit. Deposits are non-refundable. If there is a scheduling conflict or we can not begin the project right away, we will discuss this with you before accepting your deposit.

We create an overall theme and color scheme consistent with your brand and what you have specified in your initial consultation.  You will be provided an image that is a mock-up of what the website may look like. This is for you to get a feel of the colors, fonts and potential layout (where images & text will be). Your approval will be requested before moving forward.

Once we have received your approval of the mock up image, we will being building your website.

In most cases, you will be able to view the site once the layout has been significantly built.  This is a great opportunity to review your content. Sometimes it makes a difference once you see your content “live”.

Revisions are always open and unlimited except for major design elements that you have approved.  Revisions are expected to be reasonable, such as, to correct errors and omissions and very minor design changes. Anything can be changed, but changing or revising major elements may result in an additional cost.

After the website is complete, we will request a final approval and submit a final invoice for the balance of the project, which will include any additions to the website design project not included in the initial scope of work and/or additional products for e-commerce websites.  From time to time there may something requested for the site that requires immediate payment before incorporating it into the site, such as stock photo licenses.
